About
My project explores gardens and growth through Impressionist-inspired imagery and textile practices, questioning the hierarchy between fine art and craft. It explores how feminised creative practices, such as embroidery, have historically been undervalued. By combining digital prints with references to embroidery, it highlights this undervaluation of feminised labour and examines how contemporary design can challenge traditional distinctions between art, decoration, and gendered making. The partially hidden embroidery symbolises how textile practices and feminised labour have historically been overlooked within art and design.
